I have been a governor at Shelton Infant School since September 2007 and I was the Chair of Governors from 2012 until 2015. Both my children attended the school from Nursery to Year Two, and would still come if they were allowed! They have many happy memories of their infant years and will never forget the day we filled the nursery with 5 tons of sand as part of a special week!

I became a governor as I had observed the high quality education that my children were receiving and wanted to ensure that this standard continued to be available to all our local children. Since becoming a governor, I have been part of the recruitment panel for staff members, undertaken yearly pupil surveys, been on many exciting school trips, listened to children read, enjoyed delicious school dinners and meet regularly with the headteacher to keep in touch with everything that is going on at the school.
