My name is Jon Wheeler and I am a parent governor at Shelton Infant School. I have a daughter, Sally, who currently attends the school in Year 2 (Class 5), which gives me a strong personal connection to the school and its community. I am passionate about how the school operates, how children are supported in their learning, and ensuring they enjoy coming to school every day, in line with the school’s motto: Achieve Well, Aim High, Have Fun. I have been in the role for approximately 12 months and during this time have helped instigate improvements, including starting the process for new undercover bike sheds to help protect children’s bikes from the weather (watch this space!)  I am a civil servant working for HMRC and value being closely involved in school life, working alongside staff and fellow governors to offer support, share ideas, and help the school continue to grow and thrive.
